Knowledge Management News & Resources

Although ‘KM News & Resources’ is operated by a German based consulting service and it contains contents of commercial providers its aim is non-commercial. To draw a more complete picture, ’KM News & Resources’  only wants the Knowledge Management community and other interested parties to call attention to the latest news and resources about Knowledge Management and related fields. It wants to enable them to access a broad bunch of relevants stuff from a single source, avoiding time consuming search and subscription to various services.

Contents

Besides on updates on popular resources, that are well known in the community, one will also get hints to resources that are not easy to locate and therefore not that popular but as valuable as the popular ones. However, as the field of Knowledge Management is profoundly interdisciplinary and is rapidly gaining in importance in almost all social and economic areas, for sure there are/will be some important missing peaces.  If you know about such stuff do not hesitate to contact the editor of ‘KM News & Resources’ to add them or maybe you would like to participate.

Translation

‘KM News & Resources’ contains English- and German-language news an resources. For those who are not familiar with the one or the other language but might be interested to stay informed about the entries written in the non-familiar language the entry titles are translated with a link through which the content of the corresponding entry will be translated.

Comments

Comments should be used to point the readers to additional (older) resources related to the content of the entry as well as reviews about the entry (i.e. article-, book-, product reviews, blog entries etc.). Following examples of:

• additional (older) resources,
• reviews, and
• extended calls.

Subscribing

Readers of ‘KM News & Resources’ have the possibility to obtain blog entries via rss feed or via e-mail.

Additional Services

Apart from blog content readers also can access additional services which are the:

• KM Events Calendar - a broad source containing conferences of interest to the community. Note that entries into the calendar will not be announced in ‘KM News & Resources’ till now. Sole exception are some calls for conference papers.
• Blogs2Read @ Bloglines - a comprehensive list of weblogs related to Knowledge Management currently containing 138 feeds (02/2007). Feeds can be exported. This list will be updated regularly. It is provided as entries form other blogs will not appear in ‘KM News & Resources’. However, one can point to other blog entries by leaving a comment. Of course the entries have to relate to the content.
• KM-Links/Bookmarks @ del.icio.us - a fast expanding collection of categorized and commented interesting links currently containing 158 entries (02/2007). Updates on the collection will be announced in ‘KM News & Resources’ and archived in the category ‘Links’. The link list of ‘KM News & Resources’ will only be updated on occation.
